dp bags three Worlddidac Awards

Munich/Basle, July 2008. digital publishing, the leader in online language training services, announced today that the company led the "Worlddidac Awards" with honors in three categories. The Munich/Germany based company has been awarded a trio of the prestigious prizes for their range of language training software, winning a Worlddidac Award each for the corporate solution “CLT Intensive” online language school as well as for the private consumer products “English Interactive Language Tour” and “Business English Intensive Course”. In making the award, the international jury emphasized that the award specifically recognised the innovative technology and pedagogical value of the dp language training solutions.

The evaluation for the Worlddidac Award, which is the most recognized international prize in the education sector, took place in Bern, Switzerland, in June 2008. A preselected field of 52 products from 11 countries around the world representing all education sectors was invited to participate; eventually the international expert jury decided that 21 products lived up to the high standards in quality and innovation that qualify for the Worlddidac Award. Kirsten Warweg, director of communication at digital publishing says: “We are absolutely thrilled with winning 3 Worlddidac Awards in such a distinguished field of products and are very proud that our work in online language training has been recognized by the wider training community in this way.” The official presentation of the Worlddidac Award 2008 to the winners will take place on October 28, 2008 on the eve of the international education trade show and exhibition WORLDDIDAC Basel 2008. The products will then be introduced to the interested public and many of them will also be on display during the three days of the show.

The Worlddidac Award was established in Switzerland in 1984 with the aim of motivating producers of teaching media to continuously renew their products. As bearer of the Worlddidac Award, the Worlddidac Foundation follows developments and trends on the international education media market. Its specialist jury selects the products and product ranges to be given the prize of the Worlddidac Award in a week-long evaluation process. In the last 24 years, the juries have already assessed over 1,450 products and product ranges. The Worlddidac Award is today one of the most recognized international awards in education.
